First Week of March

It's 5:15am. I've been up for over 2 1/2 hours. I really need to rework my internal time clock. Daylight savings time starts next week. It's either going to be a gift or a curse -- possibly both.

I tried to take more photos last week. Some days were better than others. With the warm weather coming to Houston (many claim that it never left) there will be more daily photo ops to capture. I've started to channel my "inner paparazzi." and 'm definitely feeling more comfortable walking around with camera in hand.

It's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo time http://www.hlsr.com/. I'm attending this year and in big news, I'm plan to --hold your breath --  TOUCH some animals. As a Native TEXAN and rarer still -- a NATIVE HOUSTONIAN, the time has come for me to get in touch with my "cowboy roots". OK,  I will at least attend the rodeo, photograph the animals and buy new cowboy boots.

I saw these lovelies online and I want to make them mine:

Handcrafted Lucchese 1883 Matte Ostrich Leg Cowgirl Boot - Snip Toe (on sale for $439)

Vintage boots found on pinterest.

In other news, I have my Texas Tax ID Number and will be setting up my business bank account on Friday. My creative juices are starting to flow and I'm one step closer to living my dream.

New Items at Michaels

While I'm preparing for my grand launch, I thought I'd share some of the goodness that I've spied at Michaels lately. Many of these beauties will undoubtedly find a way into my studio.

This is the Sew Easy Line from WR Memory Keepers. I love the rainbow of colors.
The Boho Collection Line appears to be an Michaels brand. These are heavy felt and so darn cute. My mind is swimming with possibilities. The coffee mug will be mine by the end of the week.

I am also proud to say that I am staying relatively up-to-date with my 2012 Project Life album. I continue to operate on the tried and true premise that "I am an Artist of the Every Day". It takes a lot of pressure away from my perfection issues.

Today was a sick day but I'm feeling much better and will be back to my real job tomorrow.

Love Is In The Air

Valentine's Day is less than a month away and the  cupid spirit is already coming over me. I started making class samples to shop around town. The plan is to create a simple project, a simple layout, an advanced layout, and a mini book -- all by Friday.

Here's the simple project so far...I will definitely add some ribbon maybe a rub-on or two.
I have a lot to complete in the next few days, but it's what I love.

In other news...look at the lovelies I found at Target yesterday.

They are on my must have list.

Well, time to get to my day job so I can get back to the studio right after my workout.
